Turkish Deaf National Team continues its preparations for the 23rd Summer Deaflympics in Ankara. The experience of the squad and their achievements increase the expectations. Deaf National Athletics Team, which has been working in the capital city since the first day of the camp will go to Samsun, where the games will be organized, on July 12th and wait for the competitions to begin.

Technical Director Salih Öztürk stated that they worked very well with the team consisting of 15 athletes from different cities during the camping process and preparations were very productive and added: "We expect medals especially in marathon and 4x400."

Öztürk stated that they also have athletes who competed in European Championships in the deaf category and Deaflympics before and added "I know the capabilities of my children. What they've already achieved before is obvious. This sport is sort of their only way to hold on to life. I hope that they will be rewarded for their efforts.

Yasin Süzen who competed in Turkish Championship in Athletics ten days ago in Bursa and competed in 400 meters relay is also in the roster of the Deaf Athletics Team. Süzen who won the championship in 400 meters against his non-deaf competitors said: "For Deaflympics, we give the same effort throughout the preparation process. I expect to get a similar result in here too. I trust myself"
