Deaf Children and national athletes sang the Turkish National Anthem, the symbol of our independence, by sign language in Samsun, where Ataturk arrived for starting our Independence War on 19th of May, 1919.  

Some of the national athletes that will represent our country in this organization and the students from 19 May Secondary School for the Deaf and Özel Samsun Artı Bilgi Okulları came together in the ceremony, which was organized in front of the Coordinatorship of the 23rd Deaflympics will be held this summer on 18-30 of July with the participation of 4500 deaf athletes from approximately 80 country. The choir with 50 people sang the Turkish National Anthem by sign language. 

The members of the choir enthusiastically celebrated with the specific applauses for the deaf after the activity that is also beginning of the ceremonies of 19 May Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day of this year in Samsun.

Mr. Serkan Baltaci, the General coordinator of 23rd Summer Deaflympics, said ‘We aimed to announce the voice of our deaf children and young in Samsun to the whole world. Happy National Day!’  By stating that they organized this on the purpose of holding a good activity on the occasion of 19 May in Samsun.
