The youngest athlete, Jerlin Jayaratchagan and the oldest athlete Judy Buehow in Deaflympics Samsun 2017 came together in the Olympic Village.

The youngest athlete in Samsun, the 13-year-old Indian badminton player Jerlin Jayaratchagan met the oldest athlete not only in Samsun but also in the Olympic history, 80-year-old Australian bowling player in the Olympic Village.

Jayaratchagan who was not born yet when the Autrialian bowling player participated in Deaflympics 'n 2011 for the first time, said: “I want my Deaflympics journey to be as long as hers. I hope to meet Judy again in Deaflympics 2021."

Australian record holder who feels happy to be in Samsun expressed his thoughts about the future as follows: “To start competing in Deaflympics at the age of 13 is a great opportunity for her... Jerlin, I wish your career to be full of success.”

Judy and Jerlin gifted each other their signed Deaflympics t-shirts and wished their friendship to last after the games too.
